Sessions Was Sensational

I got goose bumps.  I shivered, and it had absolutely nothing to do with the fact I was dashing outside, in the snow, to the NESCom mobile TV production truck. It was watching what the students and instructors were accomplishing that tickled my senses.

Sessions at One College Circle was being broadcast live on the Husson campus TV network and captured for re-broadcast.  WHSN 89.3FM  was carrying the show live and streamed the show from its website.   NESCom students in video and studio production set up the stage and lights, video cameras were placed and cables run through the campus center to the mobile TV production studio.

Now you're probably thinking at this point, "show me a picture of the damned truck!"  Well, I didn't want my flash going off in the confined space, risking that it might seriously distract one of the students.

The Audio Engineering students mastered the sound for the live performance as well as for TV and radio audio.  Digital photography students were snapping photos and a Radio student, Chris Mower, served as the V-Jay.  Oh yeah, the band by the way was the Aurora Jazz Project which was a talented jazz quartet with bass, drums, guitar and trumpet.

The next time I tell you about a Sessions show, you may want to check it out for yourself. You'll not only get to attend an hour-long concert for free, but you'll be able to see some very talented students who are working like the pros!

Sounds like something Buckethead would enjoy.
